August Wrap-Up

Wow! Where did the month go? I am so excited that September is just about here and with it comes fall- my most favorite season! Thankfully it was cooler today and you could actually feel a hint of the coming season in the air. Here is a summary and a few pictures from the month...
-We installed our new associate pastor at church the first weekend in August. I was not feeling great, so Sutton attended the service alone. Kary Rawlings comes to us from Ballinger and we are so excited to have her join our church. Sutton served on the search committee and I still remember how excited he was the day they called her...We already love her gentle, sweet spirit and can't wait to see what God has in store for our church!
-Sutton attended Bloy's Camp Meeting the second weekend in August and I caught up around the house. I also went to see Julie and Julia with friends and I loved it! Go see this movie if you haven't...The movie was about cooking and blogging...Two of my favorite things!
-We actually started to clear the guest room to make way for Miss Q. Here it is before-

And as it is now...I have so much to clean out and give away. The crib came in the other day and I can't wait to get the room painted so we can put it together! After we got the bed cleared out of the guest room, we also needed to move some of the pieces of furniture out that did not belong. Fortunately, Sutton's Aunt Patty came over to help me decide where to put things and we ended up spending a day and a half redecorating. We had a great time...Here is a picture of one of the improvements to the living room-














-I actually completed a scrapbook! Of course, it was only a mini 8x8 album but I liked the way it turned out. It was a gift album for my sister's baby shower back in April. A couple of keys to success when creating an album like this are to use a coordinating line and keep it small. I love the 8X8 size. It makes it very simple to do and creates a cohesive look. I used the Making Memories Whimsy line found at Target and then embellished from my stash. Here are some pictures of the completed project-














-We were both extremely busy with work. I had my manager and a trainer with me for several days this month and Sutton was swamped with meetings and county conventions. Fortunately, I got to go along with him on a few things including a meeting with our Congressman and a fun Young Farmer and Rancher Meeting in Comanche at Brennan Vineyards.

Sutton with Jonathan and Holly Haralson- We had a great time visiting with them at the meeting. After the meeting, Sutton and I stayed in Brownwood. It was nice to sleep in the next day and enjoy a big breakfast at Skillets. This is a great little local place in Brownwood and they have the best pancakes and warm syrup. That same weekend our dear friend Jeff attended a Walk to Emmaus.
-Our final weekend in August was spent in Horseshoe Bay for Sutton's cousin's wedding. The wedding was perfect and we loved getting to spend time with family and friends. I will post pictures in a separate entry since there are too many for this one.
-August marked our sixth month of pregnancy and I will conclude this summary with my six month belly shot-

A Visit from Team Choi

Back in July, our dear friends, the Chois, came for the weekend. We had a great time catching up with them and loved getting to play with Allison who is two and the twins who are 7 months old. Esther and Phil went to a wedding on Saturday night and we babysat. The kids were really great, but I think Sutton felt a little overwhelmed...I had to assure him that we will be okay and that we will only have one baby the first time around. Here are a few pictures from the fun weekend.

I found Sutton and Bailey curled up on the couch on Saturday night watching a movie- it just made my heart melt and made me imagine all of the fun times ahead with Miss Q.

Honey Do Shower

Our good friend, Doug Wilde, got married this past Saturday to the sweetest girl from Alabama. We were so sad to miss the wedding, but we were not able to make the trip to Sarah's hometown. We will get to help them celebrate at their wedding party in Wall in September. Doug and I became friends during my senior year at A&M and that friendship has lasted through the years. He and Sutton hit it off immediately, and now Doug is serving on the Tom Green County Farm Bureau Board, so we are looking forward to lots of fun with them at meetings and FB trips.
In July, we helped host a honey do shower for the couple. Sarah's bridal shower was that morning, so we thought it would be fun to shower Doug that night. It was very casual and laid back with burgers, beer, and watermelon. It was a great night and so fun to catch up with old college friends and to make a few new friends as well. The best part was getting to play 88...We decided we need to start a domino club here in SA, so if you are interested, let me know! Here are a few pictures from the night...

Some special guests came to visit as the couple opened presents. The nuns turned out to be Doug's mom and her friend and they were quite the entertainment.

Oman Family Vacation- Part 2- The People

We had such a great time just spending quality time with family and relaxing. In the mornings we would have breakfast and go for walks. Pop and Mor Mor would take a few people out on the boat fishing. Mainly we just hung out in the pool. In the evening, we played pool and dominoes. This is my favorite time of the year when my entire family gets to be together in one place for a couple of days and it is never long enough. I did not take as many pictures this year and just tried to enjoy the moments more, but here are a few...

All ten grandchildren! It is hard to get everyone to cooperate. I am so excited that next year our little one will get to be a part of this fun group!

Oman Family Vacation-Part 1- The Location

After the 4th of July, we enjoyed a fun family vacation with my side of the family. We stayed at Log Country Cove near Lake LBJ in this great cabin where almost everyone had a bed...Pretty hard to do when you have such a large group.

I am only a month behind on this post! We enjoyed a great 4th of July weekend including our annual "Freedom From Clutter" celebration, the Santa Rita Parade, the Sauer Family Reunion, and an afternoon at the tank (one of our very favorite summer activities.) Here are a few pictures...

After the parade, we drove down to Eldorado for the Sauer Family Reunion. Sutton's grandma was 1 of 10 Sauer children! We had a great lunch and enjoyed catching up with cousins and meeting relatives. I love this picture of Sutton and Grandma!
After the reunion, we went to Mike and Becky's house and then to the tank on the Vermont Place for swimming and a cookout. We enjoyed the evening with Mike and Becky and several old friends that we do not get to see very often.
The Vermont Place is a special place for us because we have been going there since we were dating. Each year, Mike and Becky clean out the tank and it is the perfect swimming hole. The water is clear and cold and the sky is beautiful out there. I love to sit there in the pasture and watch a thunderstorm come in. The best is when you can enjoy it all with a cold beer and some Texas country music, but this year I made do with a root beer.

The only negative side to swimming at the tank is having to watch out for the droppings from these guys when you get out of the water...You definitely want to wear shoes!

4th of July 2009 was a great day spent with family and friends doing what we love. As we drove home from Eldorado that night we enjoyed watching fireworks light up the sky on all sides of us. It really was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

24 Weeks

We had our monthly checkup this week and all was well. This is Miss Q at 18 weeks- my doctor forgot to give us the ultrasound picture last time. This is the first picture we have of her sweet face. Look close and you can see her eyes, nose, and mouth.

We have also slowly begun the process of transforming the guest room into the nursery. The first step was getting rid of the king size bed. It was bittersweet for me because I love having company and I love having a nice place for them to stay and it almost felt like the end to that time in our lives, but we are planning to have a smaller bed in the room so we should still have plenty of room for company. I began cleaning out the closet which is overwhelming. That is the closet that holds all of the things that don't really go anywhere else. The closet project will take some time. Sutton's sweet mom is working on the crib bedding and window treatment. We are so blessed to have this talented lady in our lives. It is so nice not to have to worry about those details. I also have the crib and dresser ordered and plan to order the chair this week. I can't wait to post pictures of how it all comes together! I have to say thanks to Jamie for sharing the link to the Kelly's Korner Show Us Where Live nursery post. This definitely got me inspired.

As for our sweet baby girl, she is growing like a weed and moving around alot. I felt movement for the first time back in June but it was not until our family vacation and my poa meeting that I began to feel it consistently. This week was the first time Sutton was able to feel it. I think it freaked him out a little at first, but now he seems to like it. She is most active when I lay down at night and seems to rest when I am driving. I love having that little reminder that she is in there and in less than four months we will both be able to enjoy her. I can't wait! This weekend, Sutton is at Ft. Davis at Bloy's Camp Meeting, a favorite Page family tradition. I am home working on projects and catching up on some rest. I really hate to miss this fun time with our family, but I haven't felt great this week, so I decided to just take it easy this weekend and not push it too much. Next year we will all go to Bloy's as a family!

June Conclusion

Well, even though I am so far behind, I am slowly but surely catching up and this post should conclude June 2009. Sutton was a busy man in June and traveled to Virginia for a week, spent a week on the ASU campus for Farm Bureau's Youth Leadership Conference, and finished the month off in San Marcos for Farm Bureau's Summer Commodity Conference. During all of that, we enjoyed a visit with our dear friend, Bryce. He also works for Farm Bureau so he spent the weekend with us and then traveled with Sutton to San Marcos. We always love having Bryce here. Bryce is one of our best friends and he is so easy and fun to be around. It was a much needed, relaxed weekend at home. We especially enjoyed hearing stories and seeing the pictures from Bryce's recent mission trip to Africa. This was his second time to go and he and his team have done some amazing work there. While they were on the road, I was in the field. The highlight for me during this time was a baby shower for one of my coworkers and good friends, Britt Hill. Her sweet baby girl, Lakely, arrived last week. The shower was fun because it was just the girls from our Abilene Sanofi-Aventis team. It was quaint and a great way to end a busy Monday. Since we travel a large area and we are never in the same place at one time, it was nice to visit and celebrate our friend. Here are a couple of pictures-
